In the summer of 1970 we embarked on the construction of an honest eatery, to be named for our Founder's beloved "Black Dog." The Black Dog Tavern was open for business in the cold winter of 1971 and established itself among locals as the place to be for a good cup of chowder. Over the years we have gained a reputation for serving the best, and continue to impress for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
